Crowe advises Riverside on the add-on transaction Energy Brainpool through its portfolio company Montel AS

Crowe has successfully advised global PE investor Riverside ("The Riverside Company") on the add-on transaction Energy Brainpool ("Energy Brainpool GmbH & Co. KG") by portfolio company Montel AS (Norwegian provider of energy and electricity market information). The acquisition takes place parallel to the transaction of the benchmarking tool "Qwatt" (Power Purchase Agreements) and is intended to consolidate the Europe-wide positioning of the Montel platform.

Founded in Berlin in 2003, Energy Brainpool offers detailed analyses, long-term forecasts and modeling of energy markets and prices, as well as individual consulting services and training courses for the energy sector. The company has a leading position in the DACH market and is represented in thirteen other European countries. Clients include traders, utilities, banks, investors, industrial companies and public sector organizations.

The Crowe BPG (crowe-bpg.de) team responsible for the financial due diligence and commercial contract advice consisted of Andreas Hoffmann, WP and Partner (overall lead) and Philipp Jans (Associate). Crowe Kleeberg (kleeberg.de) was responsible for the tax due diligence and tax contract advice. The tax team included Dr. Lars Lüdemann, StB and responsible partner, and Dr. Sebastian Sieber, StB.
