Crowe advises Waldegg Equity on majority stake in Coperitus GmbH
Crowe has successfully advised Waldegg Equity Partners GmbH (“Waldegg Equity”) on the acquisition of a majority stake in Coperitus GmbH (“Coperitus”). The entrepreneur Markus Schäferhoff will retain a stake in the company and will actively shape the future development of the company.
Waldegg Equity is an owner-managed investment company based in Munich that invests in medium-sized companies on a long-term basis and is committed to supporting them in their further development. The focus is on investments in healthy, successful companies in German-speaking countries.
Coperitus, which is based in Coburg and has around 70 employees, is a leading provider of software solutions and development services for banks in the securities business. In addition to maintaining its own software solutions, Coperitus supports banks and brokerage companies in the development and enhancement of customer-specific solutions. Through the partnership with Waldegg Equity, Coperitus aims to further consolidate its position as a solution provider in the growth market of digital financial services.
The Crowe BPG team (crowe-bpg.de), which was responsible for the financial and tax due diligence, consisted of Andreas Hoffmann, WP and Partner (overall lead, Financial), Alexander Schneider (Senior Manager, Financial) and Henry Miller (Associate, Financial). The tax due diligence was carried out by Dr. Philipp Kruse, StB and Partner.
